What is the kinsman redeemer?
The go-el. Responsible for taking care of their family and relatives.
What are the responsibilities of the kinsman redeemer?
If someone has become poor am I sell their land to pay off their debt, it is responsibility to purchase the land sold. So that the family doesn’t lose its inheritance. This individual hast to pay out-of-pocket for any debts.
They redeem things dedicated to the Lord. A portion of their flocks are herds. A monetary value of what will be paid to the redeemer so that it can be bought back into the use of the family.
If a person has been sold into slavery they are to pay off the debt. Free a person of slavery.
If a member of the family got killed, their responsibility is to bring their individual to justice. Avenge the blood of the murdered relative. Justice. Cities of refuge for accidental murder
Mary a childless widow to redeem the family name. If her husband dies, it’s the responsibility of the kinsman redeemer to carry the name of their former dead father
