When was the civil war?
It lasted 3 years, from 1918-21.
What is centralisation?
The concentration of control of an activity or organisation under a single authority.
What was the Politburo?
The highest policy-making authority within the Communist Party.
What was nomenklatura?
It was the system where positions of influence and power in the party and agriculture were filled by Party appointees.
What were the four groups fighting in the Civil War?
Red army, white army, the anarchists and foreign forces.
Who fought for the red army? What did they want?
The Bolsheviks, Mensheviks and Soviet Republics. They wanted to extend communist power and establish a communist government.
Who fought for the white army? What did they want?
Tsarists, they wanted to continue the Tsarists rule and to eradicate communism
What did anarchists want?
They wanted to abolish the government all together.
Who fought in the foreign forces? What did they want?
Britain, France, US, Japan. They wanted to remove the Communists.
Who won the Civil War?
The Reds - Communists.
