what was life like for peasants?
famine and starvation

what difficulties faced the Russian army during the war?
soldiers were fighting for the country and not the leader
the army were not trained well and didn’t have much artillery, ammunition and rifles
why was it a mistake for tsar Nicholas II to take personal charge of the army?
over 70% of the Russian soldiers were casualties and less than 30% were dead.
how did the war affect the Russian people?
the amount of money the country had
cost of war created economic difficulties.
how did peasants and factory workers react to the impact of the war?
they were not happy. the number of strikes by workers rose. they did not like there pay and their was not enough food.

why was the tsar a bad ruler?
Because he was unable to address the needs of Russia’s people

During the February revolution of January 1917 following a series of political events which led to the formation of a liberal republic
When was the liberal provisional government formed?
During the October revolution in 1917, which lead to the creation of the Soviet power and overthrew the liberal provisional government
what were the economical problems?
Russia had an outdated economy and agriculture relied a lot on independent peasants. despite a short growing period for crops, Russia has a vast territory making it the largest exporter of agriculture in the entire world
what were the social problems?
Russia faced centuries of oppression towards the lower class. rapid industrialization caused overcrowding, unfostered which lead to poor living conditions for workers
