Anaphora
the repetition of a word at the end of successive clauses or sentences.
Epistrophe
the omission or absence of a conjunction between parts of a sentence.
Asyndeton
a stylistic device in which several coordinating conjunctions are used in succession in order to achieve an artistic effect
Polysyndeton
a figure of speech in which a part is made to represent the whole or vice versa, as in Cleveland won by six runs (meaning “Cleveland’s baseball team”).
Synecdoche
the general character or attitude of a place, piece of writing, situation, etc
Tone
a method of paragraph or essay development by which a writer explains step by step how something is done or how to do something.

the arrangement of words and phrases to create well-formed sentences in a language.

state or assert that something is the case, typically without providing evidence or proof.
Claim
type of literary device that appears in different categories of essays and theses in the form of paraphrase and quotations. It is presented to persuade the readers and used with powerful arguments in the texts or essays.
