Distilled twice in a pot still and aged for years prior to release. The color comes from caramel.

What does the age statement on a bottle of English rum mean?
Youngest rum in the blend.
What does the age statement on a bottle of French rum mean?
The entire bottle must be of that age.
What are the legal restrictions on age statements for rum, general?
There must be “some” of that age in the bottle; could be just a splash.
What is the English style of rum, and where is it produced?
Richest, most aromatic, generally distilled in pot stills and oak aged for several years.

What is the Spanish style of rum, and where is it produced?
Light, often white, generally distilled in column stills and often unaged.

Rhum Agricole - they do not produce rum from molasses. Generally distilled in a column still.

Where is Tequila produced?
Primarily around the city of Tequila in Jalisco (west coast, midway down). Other states of production are:
Nayarit (north of Jalisco)
Guanajuato (east of Jalisco)
Michoacán (south of Jalisco)
Tamaulipas (on the east coast of Mexico, opposite Nayarit)
What is tequila produced from?
The heart of the blue agave plant, minimum 51%.
How long is blanco Tequila aged?
Not at all - bottled immediately after distillation.
How long is reposado Tequila aged?
60 days to 1 year
How long is añejo Tequila aged?
1-3 years
How long is extra añejo Tequila aged?
3+ years
What is mixto Tequila?
Tequila that is not 100% blue agave.
