*Even if a sailboat has sails up, if the engine is running, it’s “powered”

  • Pass oncoming traffic like in cars
  • The boat to SBD has ROW
  • Keep out of the way of a boat you are passing

A
  • proceeding w/ current have right of way (ROW)
  • stay out of way of large
  • fishing vessel should not block channel
  • overtaking vessel must sound off (see card)
  • reply with same signal
  • approaching blind bend sound off
