Rule 1
Members and Firms must be honest, act with integrity, and comply with their professional obligations including to RICS
Rule 2
Members and Firms must maintain their professional competence, and ensure that services are provided by competent individuals who have the necessary expertise

Members and Firms must provide a good quality and diligent service
Rule 4
Members and Firms must treat others with respect and encourage diversity and inclusion
Rule 5
Members and Firms must act with integrity, take responsibility for their actions, and act to prevent harm and maintain public confidence

- Stating when there is a conflict of interest
- Preventing bribery or money laundering
- Keeping confidential information safe

- Hitting CPD requirements
- Undertake PQQs to understand challenges of the industry
- Help to train young surveyors
Rule 3 example behaviours
- Follow QMS proceedures
- Work in line with RICS Professional Standards and Practice information
- Have the correct levels of insurance in place

- Treating everyone fairly and without discrimination
- Being vigilant about modern slavery
- Speak up about harassment and bullying

Professional Obligations to the RICS
What are the requirements for members
- Comply with the CPD requirements set by RICS (20hrs).
- Members must cooperate with RICS.
- Members must promptly provide all information reasonably requested by the Standards and Regulation Board, or those exercising delegated authority on its behalf.
What are the requirements for Firms
- Have adequate PI in place
- Have a complaints handling procedure
- Sole Principals must have adequate processes in place in case of their incapacitation
- Cooperate with RICS
- Provide any information reasonably requested by the Standards and Regulations board
- Display designation in line with RICS policy
- Report any matter required under the Rules for the Registration of Firms
