What is tactile paving?
Raised surfaces that can be felt underfoot to provide warning and guidance o blind or partially sighted people.
Why should pedestrians take care when crossing us and cycle lanes?
Traffic may be moving faster than other lanes or they move against the flow of traffic.

What is a zebra crossing?
An area of road painted with broad white stripes, where vehicles must stop if pedestrians wish to cross. They have round amber coloured lights either side.
What are Belisha beacons?
The round amber lights on black and white striped poles that are either side of a crossing.
What is a puffin crossing?
A crossing where users press a button and the green/red man is present on the same side of the road. They use sensors to detect if people are on the road and if they are waiting.
How wide is a standard pelican crossing?

What is a pelican crossing?
A crossing where users press a button to signal they want to cross and a green man shows up after cars have stopped. This is for a predetermined amount of time.
What is a toucan crossing?
A crossing where cyclists and pedestrians can cross. Sometimes a button for cyclist height. Same principle as a puffin crossing.

What is a Pegasus crossing?
A type of crossing for horses, pedestrians, and cyclists. Same principle as a toucan crossing but with horses too.
What should pedestrians do if they see emergency services?
Keep off the road.
