Numbers used to count objects.
Counting (Natural) Numbers
Counting numbers and zero.
Whole Numbers
Whole numbers and all negative numbers that aren’t decimals or fractions.
Integers
Any number used to describe a positive or negative number. (Includes integers, decimals, and fractions)
Real Numbers
The result of multiplying any number by itself. (Ex. 3X3=9, 4X4=16…)
Perfect square
A number that is neither positive nor negative.
Zero
A quantity whose value increases without bound. Its place on the number line is undetermined.
Infinity
A quantity whose value is decreasing without bound. Its place on the number line is undetermined.
Infinitesimal
Numbers less than zero.
Negative numbers
Numbers greater than zero.
Positive numbers
Numbers ordered in a way that they form a definite pattern.
