Equality before the law
allows everyone to be seen as equal

all are equal before the law are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law
The powers of the state are limited by its laws
state needs to have powers limited by laws to protect exploitation of private citizens rights
the seperation of powers
primary roles:
parliament make acts
government administer laws enacted by legislature
judiciary create common law and apply acts
why cant the PM make laws
would lead to dictatorship
the independence and impartiality of the judicary
the J has to be independent from the government so there is a bias
there must be a fair legal system for administrating and enforcing laws
to make sure everything/one is equal/
substantive laws must be fair
