What is the basic rule of law?
The concept that both the government and the citizen knows the law and obeys it.
What is criminal law?
Law dealing with disputes between society and individuals, made for the peace and wellbeing of society.
What is civil law?
The system of law concerned with private relations between members of a community.
What is democracy?
A system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of the state.
What is legislation?
A law which has been promulgated by a legislature or other governing body or the process of making it.
What is the judiciary?
The arm of government which consists of members of a court of law that interpret the law.
What is a legislature?
A deliberate assembly with the authority to make laws for a political entity.
What is the executive?
The branch of government exercising authority in and holding responsibility for the governance of a state.
