Vessel Engaged in Fishing
Any vessel fishing with nets, lines, or trawls, or other fishing apparatus which restricts manuverability.
Vessel Not Under Command
Means a vessel which through some exceptional circumstance is unable to maneuver as required by the rules.
Vessel Restricted in Ability to Maneuver
A vessel from the nature of her work is restricted.
Western Rivers
Means the Mississippi River, its tributaries
Great Lakes
Means the Great Lakes and their connecting tributary waters including the Calumet River as far as the Thomas J O’Brien Lock, the Chicago River, as far as the Ashland Avenue bridge, and the Saint Lawrence River as far east as the lower Saint Lambert Lock.
In Sight
Means that the vessels can actually see each other and does not include detection by Radar.
Underway
Means not anchored, aground, or tied to a pier.
