3 Vessel
The word vessel includes every description of water craft including non displacement, wig craft and seaplanes, used or capable of being used as a means of transportation on water.
3 Power driven vessel
The term power driven vessel means a vessel propelled by machinery
3 Sailing vessel
The term sailing vessel means any vessel under sail provided that propelling machinery, if fitted, is not being used
3 Fishing vessel
The term vessel engaged in fishing means a vessel fishing with nets, lines, trawls or other fishing apparatus that restricts manoeuvrability but does not include a vessel fishing with trolling lines or other fishing apparatus that does not restrict manoeuvrability
3 Seaplane
The word seaplane includes any aircraft designed to manoeuvre on water
3 NUC
The term vessel not under command means a vessel which through exceptional circumstances is unable to navigate as required by these rules and is therefore unable to keep out of the way of another vessel
3 RAM
The term vessel restricted in her ability to manoeuvre means a vessel which through the nature of her work is restricted in her ability to manoeuvre as required by these rules and therefore is unable to keep out of the way of another vessel. The term restricted in their ability to manoeuvre shall include but not be limited to:

A vessel engaged in laying, servicing or picking up a navigational mark, pipeline or submarine cable
3 g2
A vessel engaged in dredging, surveying or underwater operations
3 g3
A vessel engaged in replenishment or transferring personnel, provisions or cargo whilst underway
3 g4
A vessel engaged in the launching or recover of aircraft
3 g5
A vessel engaged in mine clearance operations
3 g6
A vessel engaged in a towing operation that severely restricts the towing vessel and its tow in the ability to deviate from their course
3 CBD
A vessel constrained by her draught means a vessel which because of her draught in relation the available depth of navigable water is severely restricted in her ability to deviate from the course she is steering
3 Underway
The word underway means a vessel not at anchor or made fast to the shoe or aground
