Kreutzer worked as a professor of violin at the Paris Conservatoire. Then, with two other French composers, Pierre Rode and Pierre Baillot, founded the French school of violin playing. He continued playing the violin across the world in places such as Italy, Austria and France.
What is a fun fact about Kreutzer?
In one of Kreutzer’ s concerts, Beethoven heard him play and dedicated one of his sonatas after him, called the Kreutzer Sonata. However, Beethoven didn’t tell Kreutzer about this, so it is likely that he never played the piece.
