Q

Step by Step of rubber dam technique (14)

A
  1. Make sure pt is properly anesthetized
  2. Use Dam template and punch holes
  3. Get a winged clamp and safety floss the clamp
  4. Stretch the hole and insert both wings into the hole
  5. Lightly lubricate the rubber dam side that touches the teeth
  6. Loosely attach frame to RD
  7. Attach the forceps to the clamp
  8. Clamp the tooth distal to the one you are working on
  9. Stretch the rubber dam over the wings, so that tooth is sealed
  10. Anchor the rubber dam to the furthest hole (cuspid)
  11. Stretch the dam over the teeth keeping careful count
  12. Use floss to insert the dam material through the contacts
  13. Tuck in the septa & invert the rubber dam with flow, air, or double ended plastic instrument
  14. Adjust tension and position of RD with metal frame spokes
