- Locate information in text
- Highlight/underline key words/phrases
- Change key words/phrases into your own words
How to answer a Linking question?
- Quote the part of the sentence that refers back to the previous section.
- “Refers back to the previous section about___”
- Quote the part of the sentence that introduces the next section.
- “Introduces the next section, which is about___”

- Quote word/phrase
- Give the connotations of it
- Explain the impression it creates in the context of the passage
How to answer an Imagery question?
1) Identify the image being used and quote.
2) Explain the literal root/origin of the image. “just as…”
3)Explain how this image contributes to the writer’s point of view.

- Quote and identify the sentence structure technique
- Analyse the impact of this technique in the context of the question.

- Identify the tone (Be Specific)
- Explain with evidence how the tone is created. (word choice, sentence structure, imagery)
