Length, complexity, word order, punctuation (e.g; a question)
Name 3 different types of imagery and what they mean
Metaphor- Saying something IS something else
Simile- COMPARING something to something else
Personification- Giving something inanimate human attributes
How to answer sentence structure questions
- Quote sentence that will be commented on
- Identity aspect of sentence structure (e.g. list, word order, inverted)
- Explain the EFFECT, be specific
How to answer imagery questions
1.Quote imagery

4.Explain what qualities they share
(Use “Just as… so too”)

Name 3 different sound techniques and what they mean
Onomatopoeia
Alliteration
Sibilance- alliteration of soft consonants (doesn’t need to be first letter of word)
Assonance- when two or more words close together repeat the same vowel sound but start with different consonants
Consonance- repetitive sounds produced only by consonants within a sentence or phrase
