What are the immobilization restrictions after a arthroscopic RTC repair
A
immobilization 24/7 for 6 weeks, 8 weeks at night

What are the key 12 week goals post RTC repair
A
- Full AROM x 12 weeks
- Normal scapular mechanics by 12 weeks.

What exercises can be done for the first 6 weeks
A
- Pendulums
- elbow/wrist and hand AAROM
- PROM in all planes (IR/ER 45 in scapular plane)
- Scapular retraction
- Core work started 2-3 weeks out
- Aerobic conditioning on Bike

What exercises can begin at 7 weeks post op
A
- AAROM of the shoulder in all planes

What exercises can begin at 8 weeks post op
A
- AROM in all planes
- isometrics
- rhythmic stabilization

What exercises begin at 12 weeks post op

- RTC and shoulder isotonic
- begin cardio that uses arms (elliptical and stair master)

A
- 4 months

When is return to sport post RTC repair
A
- 5-6 months (may take up to 12 months)
- should have 80% strength of uninvolved side
