RP-9 Process (8)
A
1) set up water bath at 35 degrees
2) Add 2cm3 of buffered yeast & glucose mixture to all 5 test tubes
3) Place test tubes in water bath & leave until reaches 35 degrees
4) Add 2cm3 Methylene blue to test tubes & start timer
5) shake for 10 seconds & place back in water bath
6) record time for blue> colourless in each test tube
7) Repeat experiment in water baths of different temperatures
8) Find mean of results for each temp & use to calculate the average rate of respiration.
