1. 1189 July - Richard becomes King
2. 189 December - Richard leaves England for France
3. 1190 - Richard departs on crusade appointing Longchamp as justiciar
4. 1191 - John arrives in England stirs up rebellions and seizes some castles
5. 1192 - Richard is captured
6. 1193 - John pays homage to Philip II and seizes more castles in England, declares Richard dead and himself King
