Confirm is baby’s heat is beating in normal range of 110-160 beats per minute

Check for serous conditions such as eclampsia
Higher risk of eclampsia if mother is ages 40+ or pregnant with multiple baby’s
Blood tests
Carried out to identify problems such as:
Anaemia
Blood group
Rhesus factor
Rubella
High blood sugar
HIV
Examination of uterus
Checked thoughtiut pregnancy
Feel outside abdomen to access baby’s size and position in uterus
Urine test
Levels of protein and glucose
High levels of protein can indicate urine infection
Weight check
To see how fast baby is growing
If gaining more weight than expected could be pre- eclampsia
Wight loss could be baby stopped growing
