Freud’s idea that painful, traumatic memories are repressed to keep one’s mind from going insane… However, the memories still exist and influence behavior.
What is behaviorism?
Psychology redefined as the scientific study of observable behavior.
What is Humanistic Psychology?
The idea that humans are basically good, with an emphasis on free will and choice. Self-esteem, etc. We control ourselves, not nature or nurture.
What is Cognitive Psychology?
The scientific study of how perception, thought, memory, and reasoning are processed.
