The ‘Rooster strut’ is one of many motif movements in Rooster. Describe it.
A stylised walk for the men in which the toes of one foot slide along the floor, the head and neck jut forward, and the rest of the dancer’s body is pulled towards the outstretched extremities. The walk self-evidently mimics the way in which cockerels move.

No, the dancer begins in silence, and the music joins a few seconds into the dance.

At the end of the section the full company comes onto the stage, walking in very deliberate paths either parallel to or at right angles to the front of the stage so that the work ends with eight dancers lined up at the back with one couple downstage in the centre.
