What do the male costumes show in LRR?
The men have different coloured shirts and ties to each other which reflect the sixties style and Mick Jagger, the use of the different colours represent the individuality they are allowed to have from one another.
What does the female costumes show in LRR?
In LRR the female dance has a black dress on with pleats of red that poke through as she begins to dance which could suggest love/danger/passion. Due to them all being the same it could suggest they are less important in society.

All of them

What are the themes of LJ?
courting
shift in power (male now offers women his hand but she is still tentative as he thrusts and licks his lips)

What are some motifs for LJ?
Man offers hand to woman she is tentative to sit down.
What are the costumes like in LJ?
same as LRR

Not fade away

childhood
playfulness

In the third section, not fade away, what are some motifs?
Man steps forward and hops in the air whilst flapping arms and wobbling head.
she makes him feel like he can fly
At the end of the dance she waves goodbye to him.

The same as the first two sections
What is the fourth section called?
As tears go by

one of each gender is being shown to be left out

the same as the previous sections
What are some motifs for ATGB?
3 females interlace arms as they do the left out female drops to the floor
3 males reach out hand to 1 male but as he reaches back to drop their arms

Paint it black
How many dancers are in PIB?
3 female and 1 male
What has happened to the man’s costume in PIB?
he has removed his blazer which could show the amount of power he had has been reduced
What happens to the females costumes in PIB?
The females are still uniform but instead are wearing black mini skirts which show female empowerment and progression in society, they also have red scarfs which they use to whip him towards the end
key points of PIB?
although women have progressed in society they still only dance at the back of the stage and remain in unison throughout which could suggest the lack of choice they had but also the support they provide for each other
male motifs PIB?
he has explosive jumps that are very dynamic- could this suggest panic

What happens to the females costume in RT?
She now has a burgundy red dress on which could show her power over the men as well as her being the lead in the dance which is the first time a female leads in Rooster

sixties hippie vibe- Bruce wanted to show all angles of the sixties
shift in dynamic

untroubled by male attention

-creates a lotus flower with her hands
-extends leg out to the front then embraces herself
throughout she is aware that the males will catch her

What is significant about the costumes in PWF?
a feather boa is introduced for this dance

What are the themes of PWF?
male chauvinism
seduction
how is the feather boa used
to entice the male dancer but also to mock the female
Motifs in PWF?
the female dancer entices the male by shaking the feather boa like a bull fighter summons a bull
the male often flexes his arms to show off
