Dramatic irony is when the audience knows something that the characters in the story don’t. An example of this is when we know that Juliet isn’t actually dead but Romeo thinks that she is so he kills himself.

Friar Laurence agrees to marry Romeo and Juliet because he thinks that their love could end the Montague and Capulet feud.

The Friar comes up with the plan to give Juliet a vial of something that will make her look dead. The Friar will send a letter to Romeo telling him the plan and to come back. Juliet will go back and tell her parents that she will marry Paris. The night before her wedding she will drink the vial. The next morning her family will find her and presume that she is dead. They will call off the wedding and put her in the tomb and prepare for a funeral. Romeo will come back and be there when Juliet wakes up and they will run off to Mantua together.

The characters demonstrated loyalty by helping Romeo and Juliet stay together and protecting their relationship no matter the circumstances. In my opinion Friar Laurence was the most loyal character because no matter what, he always came up with solutions to their problems, and was never biased towards anyone, always helping when he could.

The nurse knows Juliet because she basically raised her since she was a baby. This is because in those times they hired women who had just had their own babies to raise them both at the same time.
