‘My lips two blushing pilgrims, ready stand To smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss.’ Act 1, scene 5 Romeo and Juliet when they first meet -Metaphor -Biblical reference to ‘pilgrims’, could mean that Juliet is the person Romeo has been seeking and now he feels complete because he has meet her -Juxtaposition of ‘rough’ and ‘smooth’ conveys the inner conflict and represents how the two are from rival families
