The twin brother of Romulus.

A form of government in which the people elect leaders and representatives.

One of the wealthy landowners who held the highest positions in government in Ancient Rome.

A member of the common people of Ancient Rome, who were allowed to vote but not to hold important government positions.

A governing body of Ancient Rome, made up of 300 members who advised Roman leaders.
The USA and Rome both had senates in their government.

One pair of elected officials who headed Rome’s executive branch and commanded the army.
The consul was the presidents of Rome.

A dictator of Rome for one day in 458 B.C.
Cincinnatus was a dictator.

A Roman consul and famous orater who opposed Julius Caesar.
Cicero was an enemy of Julius Caesar.
Civil War
An armed conflict between groups within the same country.
Greece had a civil war between Athens and Sparta.

A picture created from tiny pieces of Colored stone or other materials.
Artist use tiles to create beautiful mosaics.

A long poem about a Hero’s adventures.
Aeneid is a well known epic.
Bas-relief
A type of sculpture in which slightly raised figures stand out against a flat background.
Bas-reliefs were invented by the Romans.
Oratory
The art of public speaking.
Barack Obama is an oratory master.
Vault
An arch that forms a ceiling or roof.
The Romans invented the vault.
