- “If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?”, This is Shelley’s most famous line, as it symbolises hope, renewal, and most importantly change, it shows his inner struggle and ideas [Ode to the West Wind]
- “Drive my dead thoughts over the universe Like wither’d leaves to quicken a new birth!” This shows his longing for his poetry and ideas to spread like the West Wind, it showcases the themes of death and rebirth [Ode to the West Wind]
3.”Alas! I have nor hope nor health,Nor peace within nor calm around,” This is his reflection on despair and alienation, showing his struggle and suffering despite having the beauty of nature around him. [Stanzas written in dejection, near naples]

Which I have borne and yet must bear” This Quote shows Shelley’s exhaustion and his urge to escape his reality, it reinforces romantic themes of melancholy and emotional vulnerability [Stanzas written in Dejection, Near Naples] - ” The moon made thy lips pale, beloved; The wind made thy bosom chill; The night did shed On thy dear head Its frozen dew, and thou didst lie Where the bitter breath of the naked sky Might visit thee at will.” This quote is a reference to Shelley’s ex-wife, it shows Shelley’s viewpoint on her and how he sexualises her even after death, the theme of death is apparent in this quote with words such as death and the night.
Context Regarding Blake (1757-1827)
lived during the Industrial Revolution and was against it for crushing creativity and the human spirit, he supported ideas of freedom, equality and rebellion and against tyranny, he represented this in his support of the French Revolution, he supported feminism, as he educated his wife and was associated with (insert name) he was also associated with Mary Wollstonecraft, who produced one of the earliest feminist texts, Blake showed his artistic involvement by illustrating one of Wollstonecraft’s books
