Who was Boudicca?

A

Boudicca was King Praustagus’s wife. When he died, he left half of his property to his two daughters and the other half to Rome. The Romans were not happy with this so they took control of all of the properties and public ally whipped Boudicca and raped her daughters. This incited Boudicca to rebel.

What did Boudicca do in her rebellion?

A

She joined forces with other Celtic tribes and destroyed Colchester, St. Albans and London. Despite gaining victory over these, she lost the Battle of Wattling street against the Romans. Any rebellions that survived were coat urged and were made slaves.

A

There are rumours as to how Boudicca died, some say she died from her battle wounds and some say that she and her daughters drank poison to stop them selves from being in the hands of the Romans.
