Rolf Theory Flashcards
What are the 5 structural elements
PG, SG, Core, Sleeve, Axial
Principles of rolfing
Adaptability, Support, Palintonicity, Closure, Holism
Name the models of seeing
Line, Block, Grid, Cylinder, Two Way Operator, Internal/External
Session 6 Assessments
Walking- sinuosity, sacral freedom, nutation, lumbar drop in knee bends
Hannah Session 6 goals
Length/drop in lumbars, L4/5 freedom
Session 5 assessments
Leg drag, walking/sinuosity, lumbar drop in knee bends
Hannah session 5 goals
More leg extension on the left, help iliacus let go, lumbar drop
Session 2 assessments
Hinges, foot arches, weight distribution, talar mobility
Hannah session 2 goals
Better Talar glide on the left to help support left medial arch that collapses in knee bends- address IOM, ankle issues
Session 1 assessments
Exhalation/inhalation fixed? Arm arcs (shoulder ROM), breath
Hannah session 1 goals
Improve access to inhalation, free SG/arms from anterior thorax
Session 3 assessments
A/P depth- arm arcs, (QL) lumbars lengthen with breath?
Hannah Session 3 goals
More access to back (arm arcs), length in lumbars, thorax left rotation,
Session 4 assessments
Hold heel, cue knee forward- leg drops from pelvis? Walking- sinuosity? Leg drag
Hannah session 4 goals
Leg drag (iliacus on right), longer extension in left leg, improved sinuosity
Session 1 backwork
C curve, full stroke lumbars to sacrum. Spread or gather
Session 2 backwork
Learn supported sitting/sitbones, work through erector spinae, starting to map back
Session 3 back work
Sidelying C curve. Work flat spots, ask C to meet hand on spine and/or seated on bench, can work with sidebends/rotation
Session 4 back work
Seated. Flexion/ext at sacral base, flat places in spine, cue awareness of pelvic floor,
Session 5 back work
Seated, Maintaining lift in prevertebral space during forward bends- for education and while working
Session 6 back work
Possibly on a bench to start
Paradigms of health
Relaxational, corrective, transformational
