GP
General practitioners (GPs) treat all common medical conditions and refer patients to hospitals and other medical services for urgent and specialist treatment. They focus on the health of the whole person combining physical, psychological and social aspects of care.
Nurse
Nurses have a key role to play in primary care in expanding, connecting and coordinating care. Through their training and work, they are well placed and have been shown to provide safe and effective care in disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, management and rehabilitation.
Social worker
Their primary role helps patients and families understand an illness, come to terms with the emotions of a diagnosis, and provide counseling on the decisions. Social workers help the medical team members to recognize the emotional aspects of a patient’s illness.
Occupational therapist
Occupational therapists assess the needs of people to do what they need and want to do (occupations). They develop plans with patients, so they can re-engage in everyday life, despite their health and social difficulties
Health care assistant
Healthcare Assistants work within a variety of community settings, including GP surgeries. HCAs work under the guidance of a registered health professional, usually a Doctor, Nurse or Midwife, to provide help to the clinical team in improving patient care.
Youth worker
Youth workers plan, organise and oversee community programmes aimed at young people. Youth workers work directly with children and young people, helping them to build life skills, develop healthy relationships and make decisions that are right for them.
Care manager
As a care manager, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations within the care setting, including recruiting and managing staff, managing budgets and ensuring that the quality of the services provided meets national care standards.
Support worker
monitoring patients and performing basic health checks. making patients feel comfortable. washing and dressing patients. serving meals and helping to feed patients.
