What is Mp’s role
To conduct Legislative duties, Public engagement, Party affiliation, Constituency representation
What is Legislative dutes
When an MP debates in the HoC, proposes new legislation’s, votes on bills, Scrutinises the governments policies and holds them accountable, work on comittees and serve for them debating issues and concerns with eachother to raise them.
What is Party affiliation
When an MP represents parties policies and votes according to party lines
What is Constituent representation
When an MP advocates for there constituents interests and problems in parliament, has surgeries where they meet with the local to discuss and interests and problems
What does it mean when an MP uses public engagement
Engages with their constituents through public meetings, debates and social media
What are the three roles of a speaker?
Debates and discipline, Fairness and parliamentary business, and to represent the office for speaker
What does the function of a speaker mean in the HoC when we say, “debates and discipline”
ensures debates are ordered, Behaviour of MP’s is proper and becoming of parliament
