A
- it was created by Gobbels based on the peoples desire for strong leadership and presented Hitler as a god like figure.
- this separated Hitler form the part and allowed him to remain popular when the Nazis began to lose support.
- after 1936 Hitler began to believe the Hitler myth himself.

to maintain support and minimise opposition

what were the 4 main aspects of Hitlers world view?
A
- the Volksemeinschaft (peoples community) in which all Germans worked together for the greater good.
- creating a pure Aryan master race based on the principles of social darwinism (not just jews but disabled seen as weak)
- nationalism > abolish TOV and create Lebensraum (living space)
- anti-communism linked to anti-semitism

what was the dual state?
A
Hitler did not replace the Weimar traditional ministerial offices but also created new Nazi offices that did the same jobs.

what were the problems with the dual state?
A
- it caused chaos as it meant duplication, overlapping and conflict.
- there was no cabinet so there was no where for ministers to discuss policies or keep each other informed
- time and energy was wasted as people with similar jobs competed with eachother
