Rocks Flashcards
What is the difference between a rock and a mineral?
A rock can be made up of minerals but a mineral cannot be made up of rocks.
What are three types of rocks?
Igneous, Metamorphic, Sedimentary
What is the rock cycle?
The process in which rocks form, transform, and reform
Why doesn’t the rock cycle have a beginning or end?
Because rocks are continuously forming
How are igneous rocks formed?
From cooled magma and lava
What is the difference between intrusive and extrusive igneous rocks?

What types of rocks fizz?
Rocks that contain carbonate groups
