How are sedimentary rocks formed?

A

Sedimentary rocks are when layers of sand fossils shells etc build up on the sea bed and over time as new layers form the bottom layers get compressed and compacted into rock sandstone=sand limestone = fossils and shells

A

Basalt rocks are volcanic rocks they are formed from a volcanic eruption from a fissure or crater,the lava cools rapidly from the elements (rain wind snow) and microscopic crystals are formed
