Robotics Flashcards
1
Q
How the Da Vinci Robot operates
A
- Surgeon sits a console and is able to view the surgical field in 3-D with magnification of
- At the console, the surgeon manipulates the robotic arms by using a “joy stick” or mechanical transducer held like a forcep
- The robotic arms then manipulate the instruments that they are “holding.”
- The surgeon is also able to “drive” the camera using the foot pedals on the console

Q
Benefits of the da vinci robot
A
▪Small incisions
▪Surgeon able to see 10x magnification of vessels for safe dissection
▪Endowrist of robotic arm mimics the wrist movement but allow for 360 degree articulation
▪No tremor is conveyed to robotic instrument
