Robotics Flashcards
What is engineering?
Engineering is when someone is building something for example building cars, houses, etc.
What are robots?
A re-programmable multi functional manipulator designed to move materials, parts, tools, specialized devices through different programmed motions for performance of a variety of task.
What is the Human Brain?
It is divided into right and left hemispheres. Human brains are divided into four lobes. The human brain look like a cauliflower and is about the same size.
What is the relationship between robotics and engineer.
The relationship between robotics and engineering is that they are designed by engineers to help as do boring, hard, or impossible tasks.
What is data?
Data is the facts collected together for reference.
What is Quatative Data?
Qualitative data are numeric measurements, The data are objective they are the same no matter who measures them. They include measurements such as mass, volume, temperature, distance, concentration, time, or frequency.
What is Qualitative data?
Qualitative data are descriptions in words of what is being observed. They are based in some quality of an observation, such as color, odor, or texture.
How do we use data to solve problems?
We can use data to learn about older history or facts that we need to know in order to solve a specific problem.
What is Discrete data?
Discrete data cannot be broken into fractions or decimals. Discrete data can only take one integer values and it is typically things counted in whole numbers.
What is Continuous data?
Continuous data can be broken into fractions and decimals. Continuous data is measure and can take any value as it’s measured.
What is a pictogram?
A pictogram is a chart that uses pictures to represent data. Pictograms are set out in the same way as bar charts, but instead of bars they use columns of pictures to show the numbers involved.
What is a Circle Graph
A circle graph or a pie chart is used to visualized information and data.
What is a Line Graph?
A graph used to show changes over time, for example changes in temperature through a day. It is created by plotting points and joining them with straight lines.

What is define?
The scenario is that someone wants to cheat during a test/exam.
What is Prepare?
I think my reaction would just be ignoring them because its a test and I really don’t want to get in trouble.
What is try?
Try ti focus on yourself not the person distracting you.
What is Reflect?
Next time just focus on your self and the test because if you focus on someone else you could get in trouble
What are the steps to problem solving?
- Develop
- Testing
- Evaluate and Improve
Safety Rule #1
We have to wear safety googles if we are working with dangerous objects that can hurt your eyes.
Safety Rule #2
Never do any experiments without approval or supervision.
Safety Rule #3
Always be aware of small pieces on the floor because if objects are in the floor it can cause an accident. (pick them up)
Safety Rule #4
Treat technology and computers with care.
Think before you do!
Brain Sizes
An adult brain weights 3 pounds.
- Frontal lobe
- Parietal lobe
- Occipital lobe
- Cerebellum
- Temporal lobe
