S170 Road Traffic Act 1988
MPV on a road or other public place an accident occurs whereby –
Personal injury is caused to a person [other than the driver of that vehicle],
OR
damage is caused :
to another vehicle [other than that vehicle or trailer], or
to an animal [other than an animal in or on that vehicle or trailer], OR
to any other property [constructed on, fixed to, growing in or otherwise forming part of the land on which the road or place is situated or adjacent land].
S170(2) Road Traffic Act 1988
requires drivers involved in an accident to stop.
They are also required to give:
their name and address;
the name and address of the owner of the vehicle if different;
the registration number; and
if the accident involves injury to a person other than the driver, proof of insurance.
