Why did the British and the French didn’t take action ?

A
  • By monday 9 March the remilitarisation was already completed
  • The French found out about the Anglo- German Naval deal and no longer trusted the British so they did not work together
  • The French military was to defensive. All of their money had been put into creating the Maginot Line which mad it difficult for them to attack Hitler
  • They over-estimated the size of the German military and were worried about the prospect of war
  • Versailles guilt was growing in Britain
  • The British felt Hitlers excuse about the Franco-Russian Pact was a good point.
