Austin went to get a cannon; ran into Ugartechea and they fought, but the Mexican Army ran out of ammunition so they surrendered

A

He was in Mexico to deliver the request changes from the convention
He was arrested because the government viewed his actions to be a rebellion against the Mexican Authority
Before his arrest he thought that Texans could work with Mexico, but after he feared that Santa Anna was becoming a dictator.

A

He threw out the Mexican constitution of 1824 and sent his brother in law to deal with the rebellious Texans

Battle of Gonzales

A

Mexico demanded that they give up all their weapons (small cannon) Texans made a flag “come and take it” and put it on the cannon and fired it at the Mexican soldiers and they retreated. Known as the battle of Lexington of Texas and they won

A

Around 200 Texans left Gonzales and went to Goliad where they forced Mexican soldiers to leave and seized their weapons. This led to the Army of the People led by Stephen F Austin

A
