Q

What are some TEM considerations with RNAV?

A

It is a Baro VNAV System so it has the following limitations

  • QNH Blunder Error
  • Temperature Error, changes true altitude.
    - warmer air, true altitude higher
    - colder air, true altitude lower, Cold Temp Correction made

14
Q

What does temperature on APV chart signify?

A

If temperature is lower than this then the LNAV/VNAV minima must not be used.

LNAV minima (MDA) can be used and corrections made.

15
Q

At the FAF both pilot altimeters must be within how much?

A

+- 100ft

16
Q

Prog Page 4 Vertical Deviation max allowed is?

A

+- 75ft

17
Q

What messages require a go around?

A
  • unable required NAV perf RNP
  • FMC DISAGREE
  • verify position
  • failure both FMC’s
  • Loss AFDS LNAV
  • GPS L/R invalid
  • IRS Pos Disagree
  • Unable procedure airspace
18
Q

What should be checked at the 500 continue/go around call?

A
  • XTK 0.15
  • Vertical +- 75ft (3 whites 3 reds)
  • landing Configuration
  • v/s as required (greater than 1000 must be previously briefed)
19
Q

What procedure do we have at Ryanair to try to avoid CFIT?

A
  • Loadsheet QNH from printed weather
  • ATIS or ATC QNH on arrival

If any difference or confusion confirm with ATC

Some helpful guidelines

  • 1000ft call shud be around 4 miles
  • 2500 call
20
Q

Ryanair up is approved for?

A

RNAV(GNSS) or RNAV(GPS) approaches to LNAV minima

RNAV(GNSS) or RNAV(GPS) approaches to LNAV/VNAV minima

21
Q

Ryanair is not approved for?

A

RNAV(GNSS) or RNAV(GPS) approaches to LPV minima

RNAV(RNP) approaches

22
Q

APV (Approach with vertical guidance) is flown to?

A

LNAV/VNAV minima

23
Q

NPA (non precision approach) is flown to?

A

LNAV minima (+40 feet)

24
Q

Preflight planning we should check?

A
  • check HIL data and MEL
  • check FPL for PBN S1/S2
  • check RAIM website
  • check NOTAMS for unserviceable items
  • check validity of FMC database and approach charts
  • ensure procedure to be used is in FMC database
