Analysis- Trinity
Understanding God as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit helps us to relate to God better bc we can all relate to the diff roles within a family
What are the good uses of Free Will?
- it’s the ability that humans have, to make a real choice between differences, and that they are responsible for what they have decided to do
- it’s a gift that God has created humans
- humans aren’t robots, meaning that their influence of God and their worship is meaningful.
What are the misuses of Free Will?
- when humans go against God’s will, they are misusing it, so it can be seen as a cause of suffering and alienation from God, the world and each other
- everyone misuses their free will, no one is perfect, bc we all live in the temptation. The misuse is shown in the story of Adam and Eve
Talk about Sin…
- it is the urge to do bad things and disobey God, all human brings are affected by sin and it’s consequences, even before birth
- some see sin as state of their existence, not something that you do, but others say that humans sin when they do bad stuff or act against God, which ruins the relationship w him
How to cure our Sins?
- ppl cannot cure themselves of sin, the only way to be saved is thru Jesus, he is a sacrifice for the sins of human beings
- thru his atonement (payment) people are able to fix their relationship w God
- some believe that sinners who do not turn to Christ or repent during their lifetime, they will be sent to hell/away form God
Analysis- image&likeness of God
This helps us to feel that we are important and have meaning and purpose to be alive and on this Earth

They may feel that their lives have a meaning and purpose, bc they are called by God to look after creation and make a positive difference in the world
Analysis- Free Will
Christians will have a better understanding of the way in which actions have consequences that can affect them and others. This will make them act more responsibly
How can Free Will affect humans?
- might worry that they will not always use their free will the right way
- need to take responsibility for their choices & behaviour, and encourage other to do the same
- have the ability to change for the better
- approach decisions thoughtfully, asking themselves “What would Jesus do?”
- ask for God’s help to keep them out of temptation’s way
- they might feel like they can’t hold responsibility for their own actions, as they have already decided

How is Free Will and Judgement connected?
- free will means that ppl are able to make their own decisions, they are responsible for their own actions and can’t blame anyone esle
- in the story the decision to eat the forbidden fruit resulted in judgment from God, and they were punished from the Gardpden of Edens
- Christians believe that God will judge them too, for the way they used their free will
- for some, judgement is about whether they decided to live a good or bad life, following the guidelines found for example, in the Bible
- and for others, it’s about whether thy decided to put their faith in Christ and accept his forgiveness, or to got their own way
- free will is essential for judgement to make sense, bc it could only be seen as just where ppl are truly responsible for their own actions and decisions.
Analysis- Sin
If Christians understand sin better, then they can do something about it,. They are able to overcome the consequences of original sin and be better ppl, making responsible moral decisions.
How does belief about Sin affect Christians?
- it may make Christians seek redemption (saving) for their sins, they may repent and seek forgiveness from God
- feel love and gratitude to Jesus for his sacrifice, and work to become a better Christian, living by Jesus example and following his teaching
- feel that there’s not much they can do about it, so they ignore the negative actions as it’s something they cannot control, this leads to feeling shameful
- feel closer to God, as they know that thru his grace they can be forgiven for their sins
- look for ways to help others to find God’s forgiveness which is by spreading Christian message
How can the Christian belief about humans be too negative?
- Free will allows individuals to genuinely choose to worship or follow God, making their actions meaningful.
- Paul’s statement, “There is no one righteous – not one,” is viewed as overly pessimistic, as history includes many good people.
- The concept of eternal punishment in hell seems disproportionate given that most lives are relatively short and include positive experiences.
How can the Christian belief about humans not be negative?
- Christians believe that everyone is made in God’s image, which grants humans special importance and dignity.
- The Christian narrative demonstrates God’s desire to restore His relationship with humanity by sending
- Jesus to die for them, highlighting their value.
- Jesus’ teachings about the Kingdom of God emphasize that people can live good, compassionate lives and have the power to transform the world.
- Jesus treated outcasts and the marginalized with dignity and agape love while criticizing hypocrites, indicating a balanced view of human nature in
-Christianity that acknowledges both strengths and weaknesses.
