Where does water flow faster and slower on a bend
Water flows faster on the outside of a bend and slower on the inside of the bend
What happens when water goes round a curve
The outside erodes and the inside deposits
What is a meander
A meander is a large curve in a river constantly eroding and depositing materials
Where is a river cliff and what is it
A river cliff is on the outside of a bend it is made by the outside eroding the materials
What is on the inside of a bend
A slip off slope or a meander beach
What is a oxbow lake
It starts off as a big meander but as the neck grows narrower eventually the river cuts across the land and takes a short cut. The river will deposit materials and cut of the original route, the thing left over is the oxbow lake
What eventually happens to oxbow lakes
They eventually get covered up with weeds and fill with soil and then dissappear
