What are floodplains?
A
A flood plain is a nearly flat surface near to a river or stream bed. If there is little water. If there is little water in the river then the plain will be dry. If there is a lot of water, the surplus water will flood this area.

Flood plains provide habitats for many plants and animals.

The affects of a flood in 2014
A
Houses, furniture and valuables are all damaged or lost during a flood. Selling the house is very hard to do as it has been flooded before. Businesses are especially effected by floods as all of their income is very low as their businesses has been destroyed
