River Routing Flashcards
1
Q
What are the limitations of Muskingham?
A
It is appropriate when:
1) Applied to streams with stable reaches and in simple stage-discharge relationship
2) Should be limited to slow rising hydrographs being routed in mild to steep sloping channels
It is not appropriate when:
1) Not applicable for steeply rising hydrographs such as dam breaks
2) Neglects back water effects
3) Not appropriate for complex flow
