Risk Analysis Flashcards
It comprehend the nature of risk, it’s characteristics, sources, consequences, likelihood, and scenarios
Risk Analysis
It defined as an expected situation which does not happen or an unexpected situation which does happen.
Event
It is an outcome of an event affecting objectives.
Consequences
It comprehend the nature of risk, it’s characteristics, the level or risk, and where appropriate.
THE PURPOSE OF RISK ANALYSIS
It involves a detailed consideration of uncertainties, risk
sources, consequences, likelihood, events, scenarios,
controls and their effectiveness.
Risk Analysis
Analysis technique can be qualitative, quantitative or a
combination of these two depending on the circumstances
and intended use.
Risk analysis
It may be influenced by any divergence of
opinion, biases, perceptions of risk and judgements.
Risk Analysis
Highly uncertain events can be difficult to quantify. This
can be an issue when “analyzing” events with severe
consequences.
Risk analysis
provides an input to risk evaluation, to
decisions on whether risk needs to be treated and how,
and on the most appropriate risk treatment strategy and
methods. The results provide insights for decisions, where
choices are being made and the options involve different
types and level risks.
Risk analysis
define threat assessment
as consideration of full spectrum
of threats (i.e., natural, criminal,
accidental) for a given
facility/location.
Renfroe and smith (2016)
It is defined as the “degree” to which the facility or event
is comprised by a successful attack from the given threat.
Impact of loss
It is defined to be a combination of the attractiveness of a facility or an
event as a target and the level of deterrence and/or defense provided by the
existing countermeasures.
Vulnerability
Effect on event company/business
Impact of loss
It is defined to be a combination of the attractiveness of a facility or an
event as a target .
Vulnerability
proness of accident,problem,and accident.
Vulnerability
Devastating,severe, noticeable,minor
Impact of loss
Very High,High, moderate, low
Vulnerability
The facility is DAMAGED/CONTAMINATED beyond habitable use.
Devastating
The facility is “PARTIALLY” DAMAGE/CONTAMINATED
Severe
The facility is TEMPORARILY CLOSED BUT IT CAN CONTINUE WITHOUT AN ANY INTERRUPTION.
Noticeable
The facility experience no significant impact on operations and there is no loses of major assets.
Minor
This is High profile facility that provides very attractive target for adversaries.
Very High
This is High profile “regional facility or a moderate profile national facility” that provide an attractive target.
High
a moderate profile facility that provides a potential target.
Moderate
not a high profile facility that provides a possible target.
Low
The risk is totally unacceptable. Immediate measures
must be taken to reduce risk and mitigate hazards.
Very High
The risk is unacceptable. Measures to reduce risks and
mitigation hazards should be implemented as soon as
possible.
High
The risk may be acceptable over the short term. Plans to
reduce risks and mitigate hazards should be implemented
in future plans and budgets.
Medium
The risks are acceptable. Measures to further reduce risk
or mitigate hazards should be implemented in conjunction
with other security and mitigation upgrades.
Low
The process of Risk Analysis
Identification of risk, Analyzing the risk, Evaluating the risk, treat the risk, and review the risk
It js used to assess the “level of risk” associated with a particular action, decision, investment, or situation.
Interpretation of the risk ratings
