Rise of the Nazi's. Flashcards
1
Q
Rejection by Catholics & Socialists.
A
- Both rejected Nazism and both were propogandally immune with their structures.
- Their poor treatment during imperial Germany also provided another point for their rejection of the vote for them.
- They were afraid of empire returning.
2
Q
The “politics of anxiety”.
A
- Nazi votes felt a lack of faith in democracy and felt that traditional values were failing.
- Hitler used these feelings to exploit them to his advantage to gain more votes.
- This made voting towards him more appealing to many people of Germany who felt betrayed from the creation of the Republic.
3
Q
Young People.
A
- There was a “baby boom” during the pre war period.
- However the Great Depression ruined a part of the boom’s generation’s chances of getting employment.
- This made them vote as wanting for economic change to happen.
- Although they were only 25% of the population 61% voted for them.
4
Q
Protestants, Peasants & workers.
A
- The vote was much more higher for the population of protestants, peasants and lower class workers.
- This is because of the obvious fact they were hit hardest during the depression.
