What does Risalah mean?
A
Risalah means prophethood or messengership and represents the connection between Allah and humanity.

What does nubuwwah mean?
A
Islamic belief teaches that Allah wants to help people live good lives and so he sends messages about how to do this through prophets, or nubuwwah.

Who was phrophet David?
A
- Great King of Israel
- Given the holy book of Zabur (Psalms) because of the distortion of the Tawrat

Who was phrophet Adam?
A
- Adam was the first human being.
- Muslims believe he was created by Allah and given the role of khalifah (steward responsible for looking after creation).

Who was phrophet Ibrahim?
A
- Considered by Muslims to be the greatest prophet before Isa.
- Famous for rejecting polytheism and preaching monotheism
- Source of Authority: **‘Ibrahim was not a Jew nor yet a Christian, but he was true in fatih and bowed his will to God’s.’ (Surah 3:67)

Who was phrophet Isa?
A
- Muslims believe that Isa did not die on the cross but was taken up to heaven by Allah and only appeared to be killed on the cross
- The Qur’an makes clear that Isa is an ordinary man, a prophet, not God/Son of God
- His holy book was called Injil, the Gospel.
- Isa’s return will signal Judgement Day

Who was phrophet Muhammad?
A
- Quran refers to Muhammad ‘The Messenger of Allah’ ‘The Apostle of Allah’ and ‘Allah’s prophet’
- Particularly important because he was chosen to be the final prophet, he would receive the word that would not be distorted
- Source of Authority: ‘Muhammad is no more than an Apostle: many were the Apostles that passed away before him.’ Surah 3:144)
- As an individual his life was a perfect example to follow
- He was the leader of the first true Islamic community
