- vineyard faces south/southwest and is super steep (between 65 and 70 degrees)
- it is composed of pure Devonian blue slate + loess and quartzite = ACID ACID ACID
- finesse and elegance, coupled with cracking acidity and yummy fruit
- the Prüm family has been in the Mosel for over 400 years, with extended family members being present since 1156CE
- the origin of the estate resides with Sebastian Alois Prüm, who in the early 19th century was crafting riesling
- the present estate’s origin begins in 1911, when Johan Josef Prüm purchased vineyards from his brother (it was subsequently split in half to create J.J. and S.A. Prüm), his son Sebastian started working at the estate in 1920CE and really is the one who established the estate’s reputation for purity and focus and class and awesomeness
- the present regime is the combo of Papa Manfred (started working in 1969) and daughter Katharina (first vintage of total oversite was 2007)
