. Henry Tudor landed August with about 3000 men
. Stanley didn’t open commit to Henry as Richard holding son as security for good behaviour
. Tudors army: 5000, Richard: 12,000 , Stanley: 3000 but undecided
. Richard let down by Northumberland - showed up but didn’t fight. Stanley’s supported Henry
. Richard could have fled to Ireland (welcomed as son of York) - charged at Henry hand - to - hand combat
